A High Adult to Child Ratio
A high adult to child ratio is essential in providing good quality nursery care. It is our policy to ensure that there is always sufficient staff to give the children the care and attention that they need.
In keeping with legal requirements our aim is to have two paid staff that can be called on to fill in if necessary in the event of staff absence.
On outings and trips staffing ratios must be maintained at the same level as in force in the nursery. The outing is assessed for risk and if necessary extra staff will be brought in.
Legal Requirements:
Under 2’s - 1:3 ratio
2 to 3 years - 1:4 ratio
3 to 5 years - 1:8 ratio
